flydubai Implements Double Daily Flights to Milan Bergamo Starting July 2026

DUBAI, UAE / RankWire.AI / – UAE airline flydubai has increased its flight offerings to Italy in response to rising international travel demand. According to official information from Emirates News Agency, the airline is enhancing its presence in Italy by adding more flights to key commercial hubs. Beginning July 31, 2026, flydubai will operate double-daily flights connecting Dubai with Milan-Bergamo and will also continue its daily round-trip services to Naples, strengthening its commercial footprint in both cities.

flydubai adds double daily flights to Milan Bergamo from July
Airline management teams allocate commercial fleet capacity to high demand travel markets.

This new schedule broadens flydubai’s overall operational scope within Italy, which already includes three weekly flights to Catania Airport in Sicily and twice-weekly seasonal summer services to Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport in Sardinia, running through the end of August. Additionally, the airline announced operational changes due to scheduled infrastructure work in Southern Italy. Specifically, from November 1 to November 30, 2026, flydubai will temporarily reroute its daily service from Dubai International Airport to Salerno Costa d’Amalfi and Cilento Airport, as Naples International Airport undergoes maintenance. Flights to Naples are expected to resume on December 1, 2026, with existing bookings automatically transferred to the Salerno route during this period.

Codeshare Agreement Enhances Passenger Connections Via Dubai Hub

The increased routes to Milan-Bergamo and Naples operate under the established codeshare partnership between flydubai and Emirates, the international flag carrier. This cooperation enables passengers to benefit from integrated travel plans, single-ticket options, synchronized schedules, and through-checked baggage handling across both airline networks. Leveraging the combined network through Dubai’s central hub, travelers connecting from Italian airports gain smoother access to long-haul destinations across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, including direct flights to Kenya, Oman, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Zanzibar.

This capacity expansion aligns with wider trends in commercial aviation across the Middle East and Europe, where international passenger traffic continues to grow steadily post-pandemic. The increased flight frequencies support rising bilateral trade, investment, and leisure tourism flows between the United Arab Emirates and Italy. The addition of double-daily flights to Milan-Bergamo increases seat availability for business travelers heading to Italy’s major financial and industrial regions, while daily flights to Southern Italy cater to the seasonal rise in international tourists visiting historic sites along the Amalfi Coast.

In commenting on the network development, Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai, noted that Naples and Milan have become key gateway locations within the airline’s European route network. He emphasized that maintaining reliable regional access remains a priority, along with a long-term commitment to expand connectivity to underserved markets. According to Al Ghaith, market data show that the airline is strengthening its operations in Italy through strategic increases in flight frequency to meet the growing flow of passengers between the UAE and Italy, particularly with the upcoming winter travel season.

Major Airports Offer Direct Access for Travelers

Further elaborating on the commercial operations, Jeyhun Efendi, Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-commerce at flydubai, highlighted that boosting direct flights to Naples and Milan-Bergamo underscores the significance of the Italian market. Efendi stated that nonstop routes allow international passengers to utilize the combined reach of flydubai and Emirates for seamless access to key destinations worldwide via Dubai. The airline’s leadership confirmed that fleet deployment and operational teams are equipped to handle the increased daily flight operations, ensuring high levels of reliability for both passenger and cargo services.

These operational enhancements in Italy are part of flydubai’s broader fleet expansion and network development plans. As the airline continues to acquire modern narrow-body aircraft, it aims to increase frequencies on high-demand European routes. The expanded Italian flight schedule further solidifies Dubai’s role as a global aviation hub, facilitating smooth passenger and freight movements between European origins and expanding destinations across the Middle East, the Indian Subcontinent, and East Africa.
